About Me:
Darren lives and works in Wellington, New Zealand, a small country of 4 million people and 55 million sheep. Thankfully the days are long and the nights are warm. The human inhabitants are called Kiwis, a name given to them…by themselves. Why you would want to name yourself after a small, flightless, bird, who’s only claim to fame is that it lays eggs 2 times larger than itself, is beyond me but that’s the sort of culture that breeds this special kind of geek.
He has worked as an extra on Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings and has officially 4 seconds of Extended DVD screen time but missed out on the Oscar for hobbit-drinking-beer-and-sitting-in-the-background, by that much. He was considered so talented, he was offered a further role as a dwarf (nothing to do with New Zealand’s limited acting pool), but regretfully declined due to scheduling conflicts.
A few years ago, he got an iPod (it’s white, he wanted a black one, but they were sold out, he is not bitter in any way) and found podcasts. After years of Kung-fu, weekly squash, and occasionally dressing up as a Sith, he currently finds himself helping out on SciFi Surplus and working on a podiobook with his wife and her best friend Cate (Not Sci-fi, Chick-lit, please don’t take my man card).
