Reviews: “Futurama: Bender’s Big Score”

  November 28, 2007

VINCE: Futurama: Bender’s Big Score” has its share of good moments, especially the scene at the beginning where they take the Fox executives to task for canceling them. Unfortunately, they just try to do too much. There are worse episodes, “That’s Lobstertainment” comes to mind. But, you should go out and buy it because it’s been more than four years and they need to keep making more. As you know, you have to stay up half the night watching the DVD extras of the new Futurama you have, not the new Futurama you want.

CASEY: I have been waiting for this day for a very long time and I have finally watched brand new Futurama! The story itself was on par for the franchise but the real gems are in the special features. The math lecture is great and comic book reading is fantastic! I also thoroughly enjoyed the full length episode of “Everybody Loves Hypnotoad.” I’m not your typical viewer but there are some jokes if you just keep watching. The reason that we should buy this DVD is because we need to make the industry know that we want shows delivered in this straight-to-DVD format and it can be successful. If the powers-that-be know that people will buy DVDs, then our shows don’t have to be left to chance with the networks.

A report commissioned by the Italian government, undertaken over the course of two years, with the participation of dozens of experts, including a NASA scientist, at an estimated cost over 2 million dollars, has come to the obvious conclusion: the fires were started by arsonists from space.

Star TrekAccording to Variety, during the strike J.J. Abrams will continue to direct Star Trek XI. However, he won’t allow any script rewrites.

Abrams said he would honor his contractual obligation to work as a director on the pic but would render no writing services. And in his downtime, he plans to spend time on Melrose Avenue joining such chants as “Who’s got more money than they can count? Paramount.”

“If I didn’t stand with my fellow writers, I’d feel it in my gut,” Abrams said.
