This is a traveling story. The main characters Andrew and Samantha need to travel from Mexico to the US. The problem is the journey will take them through the ‘Infected Zone’. Six years ago a probe returned to Earth with alien life forms that have taken over part of Mexico and the southern US.

I will say that I find this movie very pretty I am not sure why it might be the coloring or the angles of the shots. The images of the actual ‘Monsters’ are in stark contrast to the overall film. The movie looks realistic but the monsters look cheesy and fake. Maybe that can be blamed on budget. But I think it is more the design of the aliens and how they just don’t seem realistic. I just don’t think the aliens how they have them designed would be able to move around how they are portrayed.

I feel like the name of the movie set an expectation that was not met. For a movie called ‘Monsters’ there was a distinct lack of monsters in my opinion. The movie was halfway over before the main characters actually encountered any monsters. So basically this was really really boring. And it relies too heavily on the musical score to convey emotion in the film. I do have to say the music in this film was very pretty.

There is not much more I can say on this movie overall I was just a bit bored.
