Again, won’t download from iTunes to a player … ugh!

  2. Girl Friday Says:

I originally had trouble in iTunes, but eventually it downloaded, although it was rather slow.

  3. Cogitator X Says:

Great ep guys. Really enjoyed that debate, especially the perspective it was debated from. One of the most enjoyable segments in a while.

  4. Edward Lee Says:

Sweet Baby Jesus, WTF was that?! A debate without a moderator? To paraphrase Joss Whedon, “a big damn failure”!

    Liked the music jingle.

  5. Chad Says:

I have to agree with Mr. Lee on this one. The debate format doesn’t seem to work very well. You’re all much more interesting when being yourselves and letting your own personalities come through.

  6. Edward Lee Says:

^^ Well, I like the debate format so long as it is a debate. What we got wasn’t a debate. It was an uncontrolled free-for-all, and there was no way to know who was speaking for what. It honestly seemed like a very poorly written comedy skit on Saturday Night Live that would play right before they signed off (where they put the really bad crap). Sorry, but that’s how it came across. The previous Trek-based debate was much more controlled and entertaining. Just my two cents …

  7. Rev. Fish Says:

I enjoyed the debate even if it could have been more structured.

I had one point to add. Since it appeared that the Empire side was being argued from a Right Wing conservative stance, there was one problem in the Jedi Assassin theory.

Mace Windu and his friends on the beer run stated that they were there to arrest Palpatine when he attacked them and killed three of them before Windu decided that he couldn’t be allowed to live because he was too dangerous. If a person in our society attacked and killed three police officers on a simple arrest assignment, that person would never make it to the police station. Self-defense would be the justified reason for the perp’s demise. Also a very Right Wing attitude. In fact, that is probably the defense the Stormtroopers would use in the Lars investigation ala Troops.

  8. Jester J Says:

I too enjoyed the debate and echo the sentiment that is should have been more structured. A moderator would have helped.

Rev. Fish is right to a point. The Jedi did come by to arrest Palpatine. If the Jedi are the police force then we all know that cop always arrive with at least a partner. Avoiding lawsuits alone require that and someone as important as Palpatine would require at least 4. After killing 3 Jedi Windu was out of his mind with grief. Anakin does not have to the the only emo Jedi does he?

All that being said, Palpatine played defeated to draw Anakin that much closer to the dark side.

One last point. It was the realization, even if false, that Anakin had killed the one woman he loved that caused the rage that created Vader. All the other influences simply pushed him in that direction.

  9. Nicole Says:

    Hey guys,
I really enjoyed the trek debate but this debate wasn’t as good. To start with, I think that having an impartial moderator is necessary for balance and order. I also think that the premise was a bit off because anyone who thinks that jack-booted strong-arming liars have any sort of moral ground is not going to get much sympathy. I do think you you had the right idea with ‘who had the best ships etc?’…comparing the coolness factor was much more interesting for me.
I usually listen to the very end of every segment because I enjoy you guys so much but I had to skip the end of this debate as it kept going round and round and not making much sense.
