Anti-witness News:

Heroes: Origins is No More

NBC has officially scrapped the Origins spin-off concept of Heroes. After the writer’s strike, the network decided that it was more important to focus on getting the next season started with a bang. The new plan is to begin the season with a three-hour event. The first hour is a roll of clips that will get everyone up to speed on all of the events of the first two seasons. Immediately following will be a two-hour movie that serves as a season premier. Heroes will return to television on September 15th.

Futurama:BBB

Futurama’s next installment will be available on DVD June 24th. The Beast With a Billion Backs is described as a disturbing–yet sensuous–interplanetary love story. Guest voices on the animated film are David Cross, Brittany Murphy, Dan Castellaneta and physicist Stephen Hawking.

Blood Drive for Moonlight Fans
YouChoose.net

Fans of the CBS vampire-romance, “Moonlight,” have pledged more than four thousand pints of blood to the American Red Cross to keep the show on the air. The star, Alex O’Loughlin, has decided to become a spokesman for the Red Cross because of the movement. The ratings for “Moonlight” are modest and it’s expected that a second season will be ordered by the network. Efforts are being organized through youchoose dot net.

Sanctuary Production Begins
SanctuaryForAll.net

Amanda Tapping’s “Sanctuary” is beginning production on 13 episodes ordered by the SciFi Channel. Principle photography will be done almost completely with green screen and the backgrounds will be added later in post production. This is also how “300″ and “Sin City” were filmed. “Sanctuary” was the first broadcast quality high definition web series. The story revolves around a secret organization that protects supernatural creatures. The series is expected to begin this fall.

Stan Lee Writes for Disney

Stan Lee’s “Pow! Entertainment” is forging an alliance with Disney to produce 3 movies. “Nick Ratchet,” “Blaze,” and “Tigress” are all based on stories by Lee. As more information comes in on these, we will pass it along.

BabzChula.org

SciFi stars are auctioning off dinner dates to help pay for a fellow actor’s cancer treatment costs. David Duchovny, Paul McGillion, Jewel Staite, Tahmoh Penikett, and Kandyse McClure are helping raise money to aide Vancouver actress Babz Chula. The auctions are taking place on eBay through April 12th. Information is also available at babz chula society dot org. The link is in the show notes.

NBC Big on SF

NBC has announced its genre heavy schedule for the coming year. It’s made up of previous successes and some new ideas. we’ll run them down now.

One show that’s going to get started before fall gets here is “Fear Itself.” This horror anthology program will have many different stories and will begin on May 29th.

Of course we already know that “Chuck” and “Heroes” will return. Those two will be back to back on Monday nights.

The TV movie sequel “Night Rider” is going to get its series started this fall. The super-car and friends will have a Wednesday at 8 eastern time-slot.

Christian Slater will be coming to television on a show called “My Own Worst Enemy.” This Jekyll and Hyde meets Jason Bourne concept features a mild-mannered efficiency expert that lives a double life with some kind of operative psycho. This show will begin in the fall on Mondays after Chuck and Heroes.

Early in 2009 we’ll see “Merlin,” a show about Camelot before everyone was famous. Anthony Head, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will have a regular role.

The summer of 2009 will bring “The Listener,” a story about a paramedic that can hear people’s thoughts.

“The Last Templar” is a 4-hour mini-series about people trying to unlock the mystery of a sec ret society.

Venture Brothers Season 3
Jackson Publick’s Blog

Apparently, Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim likes to fool around with it’s programming for April Fool’s Day. According to Jackson Publick’s blog, this year they aired the first 11 minutes of the Venture Bros. Episode 28. The episode is still in an extremely rough condition, having been recently returned from Korea. It was aired without music or sound effects. Season three of the Venture Bros. should premiere on June 1st.

Stephanie!!! I’m surprised at you! What’s next!!! Are you going to brainwash Casey! PUPPIES! You are killing PUPPIES!!! You should be ashamed of yourself. Star Wars does beat out Star Trek. You are just going to have to accept that.

  2. DaristeiaD Says:

I for one, have decided never to question Stephanie’s judgement on all things SciFi. I loved “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” which I read upon her suggestion, and as much as I love Star Wars and a lot of other SciFi franchises, it seems I am another helpless Stephanie Drone. I have to go with Star Trek as the top franchise. Its funny I have never considered myself a Trekkie… until now maybe. Oh yeah, If I found out one more thing that she and I had in common, and I wasn’t already very happily married well…

  3. DaristeiaD Says:

…Maybe the “Time Travelers Wife” was Brianna’s suggestion. I forget. Oh well, It doesn’t matter, I love the show, and eagerly await every episode. Keep up the good work!

  4. DarthByron Says:

Hey does that make Stephanie the Borg Queen!? LOL!

  5. Stephanie Says:

    *is the Romulan commander*

    Romulans >>>>>>>>>>>> Borg

  6. Stephanie Says:

…except in Nemesis, which did not happen.

The Diane Duane TOS incarnation is what I love.

  7. DarthByron Says:

Nemesis didn’t happen! What are you talking about! K’ know I know you are the Borg Queen. I don’t know what is wrong with you. Maybe it’s something you assimilated! If you like Star Trek you have to accept all of it! I like Star Wars and I even accept Jar Jar Binks. I don’t like him but I do accept him.

  8. Scott Sigler Says:

    Thanks for the love!!
