In the news is Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse, Masi Oka’s role in Get Smart, and The Justice League movie is back on. “Angel” Writers Back with Joss on “Dollhouse”

The writing team of Sarah Fain and Elizabeth Craft will be joining Joss Whedon’s new television show “Dollhouse.” Whedon fans will remember Fain and Craft as writers on the last two seasons of “Angel.” Their most recent project was the creation of the A-B-C drama, “Women’s Murder Club.” They were released from that project and the same day got an email from Whedon asking if it was too early to inquire if they would like to work on “Dollhouse.” Dollhouse is a Sci-Fi Drama starring Eliza Dushku that focuses on an organization that programs and un-programs people to perform various tasks that are often illegal.
Masi Oka Stars in “Get Smart” DVD Spinoff

A straight to D-V-D spin-off of “Get Smart” will be available within two weeks of the films release on June 20th. Masi Oka, from “Heroes,” and Nate Torrence, from “Studio 60″ will star in “Get Smart’s Bruce and Lloyd out of Control.” The characters of Bruce and Lloyd appear in the theatrical film and their story will be lengthened by by the D-V-D.
“Justice League” Revived

Warner Brothers’ “Justice League” is back on. The writer’s strike caused problems for this movie because the script still needed work. The studio put the project on indefinite hold and let the actors’ contracts expire. It looks at this time, however, that the project is revived and will be scheduled to arrive in theaters sometime in 2009.
Dwayne Johnson is “The Tooth Fairy”
Dwayne Johnson is set star in “The Tooth Fairy.” This 20th Century Fox picture is billed as a fantasy-comedy that starts production in August.
“Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins” Set for 2009

McG’s “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins” has been given a release date of May 22nd, 2009. Production is set to begin in New Mexico on June 5th. Christian Bale is set to star as John Conner and a new character named Marcus will be introduced, played by Sam Worthington. “Salvation” begins after the nuclear holocaust in “Rise of the Machines” and shows how John Connor begins to lead the resistance against Skynet.

The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America have announced the finalists for the 2008 Nebula Awards. The ceremony will take place in Austin Texas during the 2008 Nebula Awards Weekend, April 25th through the 27th. The complete list of finalists are at SciFi Surplus dot com.
