I’ve always wanted to really get into Dr. Who and I think I will after I get done with Babylon 5. I’m not sure how to go about it though. Does anyone know a good place to start? Is starting with the Beginning of the current series an appropriate place to start or do I really need to start at the beginning?

IMHO, the current series is a good starting point. Even though background knowledge of the original series is helpful, they really do a good job of practically starting over.

I agree. The current series explains regeneration, the Doctor’s place among the Timelords, and just about all the major enemies he’s faced. Start when the Doctor meets Rose.
